2010
Wednesday Men’s League
EagleRock Golf Course
Teams Each team will consist of two players. All teams are encouraged to have a sub on their roster available for play or rotation. All subs are welcomed to play each week. (Even if they are not playing for points.)
Captains Each team will designate one player to be team captain. Captains are responsible for score cards and money to be turned in each night.
Handicap
EagleRock Men’s League will host an in-house handicap. Handicap’s will be calculated using your 3 most recent 9 hole league scores. After week 3, all players’ handicaps will be calculated and the first 3 points weeks will be scored. After week 4, your first week’s score will drop off and your handicap will be based off of weeks 2, 3, and 4; etc…
Once all players have an established 9 hole handicap your league handicap will be the average of your last three 9 hole rounds. Average handicaps will be rounded to one decimal each week and from there either rounded up or down depending on the decimal.
Ex: 15.4 = 15,
15.5 = 16
Equitable Stroke Control will be used for all league rounds played for the purpose of score posting and determining 9 hole handicaps.
Format
Each week teams will compete against each other in Individual Match Play.
There are 22 points available each week of play. 11 points per match.
1 point per hole, 1 point for low gross, and 1 point for low net.
Strokes will be awarded in full to each player. Ex: If a 6 handicap plays an 8 handicap each player will get their allotted strokes on the corresponding holes.
Each team will have 2 players playing for points every week. The low handicap’s on each team play each other and the high handicap players will play each other. In the absence of a team or player the other team will play against Par. When playing against Par, you will receive a 3 stoke subsidy, added to your handicap.
Tiebreaker In the event of a tie for 1st Place, for season-ending points standing, there will be a sudden death playoff between the two teams using the Better Ball of Partners format, with each player playing off their most current league handicap. This playoff will start on Hole #10, then #18 and back to #10, if necessary. If daylight is an issue, the committee will decide the most fair and equitable way of determining the winner.
All other ties will be split.
Starting Time Check in time is 5:30 p.m. Tee off is at 6:00 p.m. SHARP. (Be here early!)
Fees
Cost to join Men’s League is $200/team plus a $25/player fee. Ex: A team with 3 players on their roster will pay $200 for the team and $25 per player equaling $275 total. Team fees are to be paid in full no later than 4/28/2010. (This is the first week of the season.) After this week no other teams will be allowed to join.
Every player in the league is recommended to pay $18 to establish a MSGA handicap, if you do not already have one. This money is paid to EagleRock but goes directly towards your MSGA yearly handicap and membership.
Each team is required to submit a team roster with names of players and subs. Any sub playing for a team not listed on their roster must pay $25 into the league with money going towards the league fun nights and end-of-season payouts. A sub may not play for points or participate in the weekly flag prizes unless they have paid the $25 player fee.
Non-EagleRock members are required to pay the 9 hole green fee of $20.00.
Green fees are to be paid to EagleRock Golf Course.
Carts are extra and optional. If you wish to ride, the twilight fee is $25/player, including cart.
There will be a $1 optional deuce pot, paid each week. If there are no deuces money will carry-over to the next week. Ties will split the money.
Flag Prizes The league will pay two flag prizes each week. Each flag prize will be worth $10.00 in golf shop credit.
Payout
The league will re-flight all teams at mid-season into 2 flights, A and B. Flight A will be eligible for 75% of monies paid back. Flight B will be eligible for 25% of monies paid back. In each flight, the top 25% of teams will be awarded at the end of the season.
Teams will be awarded 50% in cash payment and 50% in golf shop credit.
Disciplinary Actions & Disqualification
If any player is reported for conduct un-becoming of another player, that player will be subject to disciplinary action from the committee, upon review of the situation, ranging from points deduction and not limited to league expulsion.
If a team does not show for 3 consecutive weeks, that team will be disqualified.
(With no refunds.)
